Architects Lawrence McPherson Associates have been selected for a framework agreement with NHS Ayrshire & Arran, which could see the company working on several multi-million building projects a year.
The Ayr-headquartered Practice has been selected from a shortlist of six architects as the preferred bidder for new build contracts in two categories with values up to £3m.
The company also came second in the refurbishment part of the framework agreement for projects up to £1m.
The framework agreement is initially for two years but could be extended to four years. It is part of a national shake up of the way public sector contracts are procured within the healthcare sector.
Stuart McPherson, Partner with Lawrence McPherson Associates, said: "It is great to have been selected for this framework agreement and to have an opportunity to work closely with our local health authority. In the past we have worked on major NHS projects in the North of England but ironically we have never had a chance to work in this sector in our own area.
"We have worked very hard over the past six months on putting together our proposal for the framework agreement and this win will play an important role in the continued growth of the business."
The team's first projects for NHS Ayrshire & Arran include the design of the £2m Patna Health Centre, a £2m project to build a new kitchen and dining facility at Ayrshire Central Hospital and a £2m training facility also at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
It is also working on the first phase of a £2.7m refurbishment of Ayrshire Central Hospital, replacing the roof, windows and render of an A-listed building.
Founded in 1994, Lawrence McPherson Associates has offices in Ayr and Musselburgh, Scotland. The Practice is the biggest architectural and town planning Practice in Ayrshire.
Current projects for The Practice include numerous hotel and restaurant developments throughout Scotland, several large housing developments throughout Central Scotland for both national housebuilding companies and Housing Associations, together with several important healthcare projects including the completion of the masterplan for the new Irvine Community Hospital. The Practice also provides planning advice on a wide range of development issues across Scotland.
