Architects Lawrence McPherson Associates have submitted designs to East Ayrshire Council for planning permission for new 115m adult and 30m nursery ski slopes with new clubhouse.
Located 20 miles South of Glasgow, the centre has won funding from the Big Lottery Fund for the improvements which will transform it into one of Scotland's leading snow sports facilities, subject to planning approval and the confirmation of further funding from the Big Lottery and other funders to achieve the required project value.
Stuart McPherson, Partner with Lawrence McPherson Associates said: "The centre has suffered from a lack of investment for a long, long time and it will be great to see it rise refurbished if the planning application is successful.
"The facility is already popular with skiers, snow boarders, mountain bikers and sledgers but the new slope will help to attract a new breed of skiers and enthusiasts.
"The new club house is a sleek contemporary design with a dynamic 'gull wing' double pitch roof and will feature comprehensive ski hire, changing and fitness accommodation together with a stylish cafe/bar, function, conference and teaching facilities."
