Jim McGinlay has been promoted to Associate with architectural practice, Lawrence McPherson Associates.
Senior architect Jim (42) joined the Practice last year and has made a big impression on the management team and clients since his arrival.
Euan Lawrence, Partner with Lawrence McPherson Associates, said: "Jim is an incredibly hardworking individual and a much valued member of the team. His drive, enthusiasm and talent have played an important role in the performance of the Practice over the past 12 months.
"We have been in a fortunate position that our business has continued to expand despite the downturn in the construction industry and 2009, which is our fifteenth anniversary year, looks set to be one of our most successful yet."
Earlier in the year the Practice was selected to join the Health Facilities Scotland Framework to help build new NHS facilities throughout Scotland. The Practice, which has offices in Ayr and Musselburgh, forms part of the RD Health Consortium which has been selected as principal supply chain partner to deliver a major new community and mental health hospital in Irvine, Ayrshire.
Jim, a graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, said: "Since joining Lawrence McPherson Associates in 2008, the workload has been intense with commissions in the health, leisure, industrial and sports sectors which is a tremendous achievement given the current economic position.
"It is a real joy to work with such a progressive, highly dedicated and friendly Practice, so when I was offered the position of Associate I was absolutely delighted to accept."
Founded in 1994, Lawrence McPherson Associates is the largest architectural and town planning practice in Ayrshire and is celebrating its fifteenth year in business. The company has grown by significantly over the past five years thanks to major clients like Whitbread plc, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Shire Housing Association, Ayrshire Housing and Stewart Milne Holdings.
The Practice enjoys Investors in People status and positively encourages and facilitates the attainment of additional skills and qualifications by members of staff. The Practice is also currently recruiting staff for its development programme and encourages fresh talent to join the firm during this period of expansion.
